Healthy Childcare® is a bimonthly publication for childcare programs devoted to health and safety issues. Published six times a year, each issue includes information on health, safety, medicines, staff health, health education activities, illnesses, and more; including reproducible parent information sheets and mini-posters.

Healthy Childcare® is edited by the American School Health Association's Council on Early Childhood Health Education and Services. In each issue, you will find articles from nationally recognized early childhood professionals, pediatricians, nurse, registered dietitians and more.

Use Healthy Childcare® as a training tool
for licensing required credit hours.

If your state's childcare licensing agency allows you to use training from Healthy Childcare® to apply as credit hours for your licensing requirements, use both the issue of Healthy Childcare® and the Questions & Answers to gauge what you have learned. Instructions for submitting proof of the training and a training certificate can be downloaded here. In Michigan, for example, centers and group childcare programs can log the in-service training from Healthy Childcare® in your ongoing training log and family/home providers can use the Healthy Childcare® Certificate to provide to your licensing representative. For childcare programs in other states, please check with your licensing agency before submitting the certificate.
